We are currently touring around the UK, staying in mostly CL/CS type campsites - a field with a tap type sites.

We are heading over to the continent at the end of the year, starting with Portugal/Spain for some winter sun and then touring around further north next spring and summer.

We're looking for recommendations for guides to similar sorts of campsites (if they exist!) around Europe - obviously not expecting to get one book to cover the whole of Europe, but if you've used something you thought was great, please let us know.

Thanks

Caravan club do an excellent Europe guide (two parts)

Camping guide ACSI (with Card for all off season discount sites) well worth the money, great off seasons savings

Not sure about the equivelent of a field with a tap but ADAC covers germany and Europe but is in German (+ card)

Aldra Very Happy

If you are laptop savy, get the ACSI DVD as well as the book - 8,000+ sites accessible off line on your laptop, with all info, pictures. Superb and amazing and only £10 I think.

ACSI is great, but as you don't seem to know about off peak stuff in Europe see http://www.doyourdream.co.uk/2010/05/cheap-off-peak-camping-acsi-camping-cheques-etc/ for a brain dump

If you are happy with a tap and a drain, look at the aires networks for the countries - campingcar info do an offline datbase better than any book for €8.

All GPS POIs for the above are on my site which may be of use - espcially if you have Autoroute.

If you hate tech and want books, look at the above link and look at Bordatlas, ACSI Book [MHF Link], Camping cheques, and the books "All the aires" which are good (though they do NOT contain anywhere near all the aires!)

Hope this help
