i've an Elddis 155, it is just over 7m long with about 2m of rear over hang, attached to the back is a toebar come full width bumper.

we are finding than went parked side on to the wind we get a lot of rocking and moving the van so it is nose to the wind is not allways an option.

i am looking at gettting hold of a pair of static van axel stands to put under the ends of the rear bumper but i'm not sure if it is a good idea!

will the bumper bend?

is the bumper and its fitting so strong that the chassis will bend?

any ideas?

The TOWbar is designed to pull over a tonne+ of trailer !! so it will certainly withstand a couple of AXLE stands. However to prevent your van rocking you will need to arrange things so that there is a certain amount of load present on the stands at all times.

I am surprised you find it a problem, I have 2.5m of overhang on my MH and yes in strong winds I do have a slight amount of rocking but not enough to be bothersome. I DO however have air-ride fitted which probably helps in dasmping and rocking out.

I had a similar request recently - Fiamma make some lightweight jacks:

http://www.agentfiamma.co.uk/fiamma-level-systems-and-jacks-792-0.html

Bottom of the page - £26.99 for plastic, £47.99 for metal.

I'm going plastic - a little lighter and more likely to break if I drive off with them in position Crying or Very sad
