My Adria Izola (on a 2007 Renault Master II base chassis) no longer holds on the handbrake when I put it up on levelling blocks. Does anyone know where the handbrake adjuster is, and how it is adjusted please?

Colin

Bump.

I would like to know the answer to this one as it did not get adjusted at the last service and I don't want to take it back there. It still holds but the travel is excessive.

I would suggest that you most likely have a problem with the rear brake adjusters being seized because your cable should not need adjustment.

If you adjust the cable prior to sorting out the self-adjusting mechanism then you could end up with the rear brakes either not working at all on the road or binding.

My advice is to let a local garage have a look first.

Thanks Wizzo - it was my first port of call - a Renault Trucks service base here in the North-East - but they just brushed it off and said that all Masters and Traffics were difficult to get through the MOT on parking brake (low efficiency) and that was the problem.

I think I will put it up on axle stands and check it out myself. Shame that the "professionals" couldn't sort it. Mad
