I have just ordered a brand new Kon-Tiki 669 and I see from the brochure that there is wiring already fitted for a solar panel. Has anyone used this wiring effectively and once the panel is fitted will it automatically charge the cab battery as well? Confused

Thanks

Keith

The wiring is already there, possibly behind a panel next to the main control unit (same in all new Swifts). Can't remember the colours, but they terminate in a small connector, which can be cut so that they connect directly to the solar regulator. Once installed the batteries are charged automatically according to need.

On ours which is a 2009 it had a plug that you could easily plug the output of a solar controller into.

I used this at first but decided to wire direct to the battery to give a more direct path and less chance of any current loss.

You should be able to get 3x 80 w or 2x 120 on the roof no problem

I dont have the spec but I imagine the control panels are designed for limited watts too from solars and certainly the size of the connections on that plug are quite small
