Hello! Just thought id share some info and pics about my self build.
A couple of months ago I bought an ex NHS mini bus with the plan of converting it into a motorhome. I havent got a trade, im just reasonably practical and like a bit of DIY. So far it is coming along pretty well, I am doing the carpeting water, electrics, and other motorhome related fittings. A friend of mine who is a carpenter is going to build the seats, bed and kitchen units from scratch.
At the moment the outside is finished, and the inside is coming along nicely, I didnt plan on doing it that way around, but things like the Fiamma Awning [MHF Link] had to be bolted through the side of the van so had to be done before the internal panels were put back.
I havent been away in it yet, the pic is taken at a camping park I manage.
Theres a link at the bottom with lots of photos of the bits ive done so far, if anyone has any questions or comments then fire away.
Believe it or not they were a black tattoo style image that I found on google images. I then used photoshop to change the colours and superimposed them on a picture of the van. I took the van to my local sign shop who sized them up to fit the van perfectly and then fitted them. They cost £90 for both sides.
Something like that on your motorhome would finish it off nicely, Stew.

Looking good, be sure to post plenty of pictures of the way things are being done, I have a Movano, but not had chance to start yet.
Ill try, but i get so excited at the job im doing that I get to the end and think "Pictures! i forgot to take any!"
So far im quite happy with the Movano, The only prob ive had is the side door is leaking a little, ive ordered a new seal from seals direct which should sort it out hopefully.
I paid £4300 for mine, its X reg, 86k miles Full NHS Service history. It came with 12 months mot and had the cambelt and a full service done prior to collection. I figured it was worth paying for the fact it already had the windows, roof vents, and plastic lining.

What are you going to do with the destination board on the front?

Better an extension of your side decals perhaps.
The design reminds me of a Rapido but was well worth the £90.

I thought about putting the name of the van on there but im in two minds as whether to just have it on the side.
Ive called it Endeavour by the way, the name of the 5th and final space worthy Nasa space shuttle to be built. It wont go to the earth, but hopefully it will do as many miles!
