I have set up 3 email addresses in windows live mail. Two are mine and one is my wife's.

When I get sent an email and then want to reply to it, the replies are sent using my wife's address. Therefore anyone receiving them does not know they are from me.

I know I can click a little box at the side when replying (to choose who the reply is from) but I thought if someone sent an email to ME that when it is replied to it is also from ME.

Outlook express automatically sent replies from the recipient so why can't live mail. Once again Microsoft break things which do not need fixing.

Hope you understand what I am getting at. Embarassed
Any ideas anyone??

I think so. I've set up Livemail for a neighbour, to get their Sky (Gmail) emails. I think it's trying to be too clever, so that the simple things get messed up.

I wouldn't use Livemail, to be honest. I've been using Thunderbird for some time now (I have a number of email addresses I use for various things), and it works great.

Sorry - can't help on the Livemail. Is your account set up as the default?

Gerald

Hi Gerald

Yes my account is the default one. I have trawled the net all day trying to find a solution but its like trying to get dog hairs off a treacle toffee. Rolling Eyes

I find it easier for each of us to use different Email services. I use Gmail and Cathie uses Windows live. By doing this it is very easy for each of us to log in via Shortcuts at the same time, on the same or different PCs. If we both used the same service it would mean signing out of one and then signing in on the other.

I also have multiple accounts on my Gmail and when I reply it will automatically set the appropriate address without having to choose the drop down address - unless I deliberately want to choose another..
