Hi all,

I have recently added some more articles to my blog about disinfecting plumbing systems in permanent buildings. One of the spin off's is an article on using a water test kit determine the chlorine levels in water. So if you are abroad in places where the water quality is doubtful then a simple test will tell you if there is a small chlorine residual and if detected the water is safe to drink. The absence of a residual means the water has probably not been chlorinated properly, if at all, and should not be consumed without treatment or boiling. The article can be viewed here)

It also helps to set the correct chlorine strength when treating water in an emergency or precautionary situation see article here
