I have a Morningstar Sunsaver Duo controller

This one http://www.sunstore.co.uk/csi/92667904/f/pdf/sunsaver_duo_spec.pdf

I have a 120 watt panel and a 90 wattt solar panel , what I need to know is how many more watts can I add , Im looking to add another 80 to 100 watts as we are off hookup more times than we are on hookup.

Not a 100% sure is 300 watts my max

The controller is rated at 25 amps.

Electrical
• Rated Solar Input 25 amps
• Rated Load Output Not applicable
• Battery Voltage 12 volts
• Min. Battery Voltage 1 volt
• Max. Battery Voltage 15 volts
• Max. Solar Voltage 30 volts
• Self Consumption

Controller 6 to 10 milliamps
Remote meter 6 to 15 milliamps

Regards and thankyou in advance for your help

Can you measure the amps you are getting from existing panels and make a judgement from that?

A 120 wat panel will not give you 10 amps as its rated output (if you manage to achieve that) will be at an output voltage of around 16 volts. So this panel is likely to give a maximum of 7.5 amps.

On that basis, your 25 amp controller should be able to handle around 400 watts of panels.

Good idea denisl

I get about 10 amps per hour when the batterys need it or if the sun allows it , the highest the display readout has been is 12 amps in the UK.

This is a new controller so Im still getting used to it

Thankyou denisl
