Hi I am due to pick up a Peugeot 107 tomorrow and the dealer is trying to sell me a service plan. He says that over a 3 year period the service costs will be £521.10 which equates to about £174 per service and is asking me to pay £13.99 per month for the 3 year plan.
I think this is an outrageous price, we only paid £249 for a 3 year service contract for our Golf in March this year.
As the Citreon C1 and the Toyota Aygo are basically the same as the Peugeot does anyone know what they charge for servicing either with a service plan or just paying each time?
Thanks
Chris

I bought a new 107 earlier this year and was told (by main agent) that annual service cost would be "less than £100". Have no experience of the actual but if it is any more I will be asking why!
Your offer sounds dear, but what is included

We fell for that with our Aygo almost 2 years ago, becasue it was 'likely to go up considerably'. I think we pay something like the £13.99!!

Whonen my wife bought her Aygo she paid cash, but the dealer seemed to want her to sign up for 'something'. She eventually bought their prepaid servicing plan and quite frankly was conned. The cost was about £450, however, the same dealer now services her car at an annual cost of £99 and that included pick up and delivery to the house. Don't waste your money.

My C1 dealer service for the first three years cost £<70 each year,

this year was £52

don't be fooled by such "offers" they are not good value,

Firstly congratulations on the 107. I have had one for 5 years and its fantastic - so roomy for the size, amazing performance and great economy. In my ownership since new and after 60,000 miles nothing has gone wrong although a new clutch may soon be due!

When you look at the servicing you will see a lot of 'inspect' and 'check'. Stuff you could do at less than £60 an hour! The only meat is the oil change which is quite easy to do yourself but cheap for an independent too.

As others have said, servicing deals in general are not worth the money.

A complete rip off.
These cars only need a major service every 2 yrs/20000 miles with a safety check every 12 months / 10000 miles. (oil and filter and kick the tyres)

Don't forget you can have servicing done at ANY VAT reg. garage as long as they use approved parts and this will not affect your warranty.

So unles you are going to do about 30000 miles a year, steer well clear of the service plan.

I think they only do it to try to keep you in the franchise for 3 years.
