My 2010 Transit with 20,000 miles on the clock does not have this and haven't seen it on any other one. Is it rough to touch? I wouldn't hold out much hope for a warranty repair, they'll tell you it's wear and tear and to get headlight protectors, plastic to protect the plastic.
just quick up date popped into furrows at dinner time they said yes they had 2 similar cases
where the head lights have cracked in side but ford refused a claim under warranty
they said ford told the customer it because vehicle parked in direct sun light
they gave me phone number for customer services i contacted them explained the problem they said head lights only have 1 year warranty.
but they will see what they can do and ring me back tomorrow morning
This crazing effect on the headlamp, imho, can be caused by using solvents such as petrol, white spirit etc, to remove tar spots, squashed bugs etc from the glass. These liquids evaporate really rapidly causing a sudden heat loss on the surface, while a mm deeper is still at ambient temperature. Result: surface sudden contraction....crazing of material. Aren't I a clever boy!!
