Hi, we are new to MHF but been motor homing for a few years now. In august we drove across Europe to Croatia through Austria. Our previous MH was a Ace Milano and 3.5Tonne so we used a vignette My latest MH is a Lunar Roadstar 800 at 4.25tonne so we had to buy a Go box instead of the vignette, I had 80 Euros put on it thinking this should cover outbound and return with ease, it appears that I had used all the credit before I got back into Germany. Does anybody have a rule of thumb figure that it costs for a straight through transit on the Autobahn all the way into Slovenia across the Villach route? Or is it just so variable. I don't want to join one of these credit companies that register your credit card in advance and deduct the fee after you have travelled. We intend going a similar route next season.

Don't know what the total toll is via the A10 but this is a route I have used:

"On our return from Croatia, we left Solvenia from Camping Bled, a terrific place to visit, travelling north on the A11 to cross into Austria and join the A10 Austrian toll road at Villach for the short trip to Lendorf where we joined the toll free B100 to Leinz (a little narrow in places but no real problem). From Leinz we took the B108 and B161 across the Alps, both excellent toll free roads apart from a cash payment for a tunnel toll. After a night stop in St Johann in Tirol, a pretty spot, we took the B178 and B173 to join the A12, a short toll section, to cross the border into Germany heading for Munich on the A93."

I think this is the minimum cost you can get away with unless anyone else knows better?

Have a look at >The Go-Box site< you should be able to see costs there somewhere.

Looking at the Go-Box web site it depends on the emissions and the number of axles you have. For two axles and a vehicle not meeting any of the Euro marks on emissions it looks to be about Eu40.
The calculator can be found >here<

Thanks Peedee that calculator is very useful and explains my 80 euro charge. I intend taking a small car on A frame next time (am getting the unibrake system fitted next month) so will probably get charged for 4 axles!! Maybe we should drive the car through Austria and hook up once through, it would be cheaper. We spent a week in Porec and then went down to Rovinc for a week, had a great time and will go back again next year.
