So I left the vent up when it rained ...with the laptop underneath.
Now a few of the keys don't work. I'm hoping it'll dry out but it hasn't. yet. Seems to work with USB keyboard OK.
Is they keyboard stuffed or might it recover?
Roger

it might recover if you dry it out slowly. Failing that, replacement keyboards are available for most laptops and aren't too expensive (though a bit fiddly to fit).

I have replaced a couple in my time.

Take the battery out and put the (open) laptop in the airing cupboard for a few days - that usually dries out laptops/phones.

It will be condensation under the membrane.

Colin has the answer - but it will take a while!

I obviously wouldn't do it to a laptop, but having spilled coffee on a desktop keyboard I held it under the tap, rather than fiddle about pulling it to bits.

It came back to life eventually.

Let it dry out in naturally in a warm place airing cupboard or near a radiator. Might take a few hours but it should be ok. Often done desktops KB's after coffee wine spills, cleaned with a little soapy water, rinsed under the tap and dried them out ok.

Thanks for the encouraging replies.
I had expected it to have dried out by now (5 days) as it gets quite hot underneath in normal use (no fan) but no changes yet.
I'll keep my fingers crossed, otherwise it's an excuse for a new one.

I poured coffee over mine once. It wasn't caffeine compatible! The sugar didn't help either.

Slow dying for water as suggested

Silica gel crystals.

Every home / motorhome should have some.

Try this.
