I purchased an Autosleeper Symbol (2003) which had the Vanbitz Meta alarm system installed. I was given two alarm fobs, one single round one with one button and another black square with three rubber style buttons.
I was given the redkey etc but no Manual, as I have no idea what the black fob with 3 buttons is for or there functions. Also need to know how to change the battery non the fob and do I have to re-align the fob and how
There are other things I wanted to know, but my local auto alarm fitter did not have a clue.
I also need to understand how the alarm functions and also the function inside, when the vehicle is alarmed but allows movement inside when I am inside.
I did contact what I assumed was Vanbitz, but the guy who answered was not very helpful at all. He wanted to know who fitted the alarm and I do not know other than Vanbitz, as the various bits I have are all labled Vanbitz
Can anyone suggest anyone, who could check the alarm to ensure everything is functioning at it should etc etc. Really would appreciate some help here

Where do you come from?
Re: Meta <a href=http://www.outdoorbits.com/product_info.
My Autotrail Cheyenne came with a Vanbitz alarm fitted and I found them very helpful.
I had to reregister with them before they were able to do or say anything about the alarm but that only helps to maintain the security of the system. I think the charge for registration was £15.
As I had some other issues I went down to Taunton and stayed the night on their site while they sorted the alarm system. I had a new fob with 3 buttons, a new LED in the reversing light cluster, a new loop for the bike rack, and the system overhauled and checked. From memory the total cost was around £100.
If you are having problems try asking for Eddie.
Good Luck

I can only advise you to get in contact with Vanbitz who do this sort of thing all the time.
If more convinient then Solar Solutions in Poole are an authorised fitting centre and I am sure they can help.
Hi
The fob with 3 buttons on it is sort of putting in your pocket so you do not have a false alarm, the outer buttons do NOTHING they are there to protect the bigger one in the middle.

It occurred to me you might have got the wrong Vanbitz - there are two companies with the same name - the one you want is www.vanbitz.com and they have an excellent reputation for helpfulness...
Our Strikeback alarm has the two fobs you describe:
On the square one, the three buttons appear to act as one. So from what I have found, both fobs offer identical functionality.
Some functions you can check:
1. Try arming the alarm with a door open, you should get some beeps to tell you there is a problem.
2. Hold the button for a few seconds when arming, this should turn off the internal sensor so that you can be in the MH. Think the LED will flash differently to let you know.
3. If the alarm has been triggered whilst you have been away, the LED at the front will flash out a sequence to tell you what was triggered.
4. You may have a second LED on the bumper, this is a duplicate of the one on the dash (in case it is covered by the curtains or silverscreens)
5. You may have a trailer type socket under the back of the van (and a hidden switch in the cab). This is for a "bike loop" to secure your bikes/folding chairs etc. The switch is to turn this function on/off. If the switch is in the wrong position (when not using this loop)you will get the beeps when arming telling you something is wrong.
6. If you have 5. you should have a lead with a trailer plug on it to loop through your bikes.
After twenty years of installing motorhome alarm systems, we have learnt that the best advice we can give is the correct advice.
To do this our staff will try to identify the system that you have and what we installed for OUR customer ( the most important part in this equation)
Our systems are bespoke to the customers requirements so it is much better for us to check to see exactly what was fitted before giving advice that may be incorrect.
Once we have established what our customer paid us to install, we can help with some general advice.
Beyond that we will want to see proof that you are actually the legal owner of the vehicle, as we are still acting in our customers interest.
Once we have seen proof that you are the legal owner (normally we ask to see a copy of the V5 from the DVLA) we will transfer our electronic records into the new owners name, to avoid any inconvenience in the future)
We duplicate the paper workshop records, which show where all the wires are run, and what is fitted, where it is fitted, where the fuses are etc. We also then offer unlimited telephone assistance to the new owner, issue a duplicate insurance certificate if needed and again, if needed send out replacement instructions, applicable to the motorhome (A class, C class Panel van etc)
For this we charge £20.00 and everything else mentioned above is free, and continues to be free until you sell the motorhome.
So to sum up, some one calls us and wants advice from us, because we have asked some genuine questions to try to establish what is fitted, we are unhelpful.
It would be very simple for the OP to find out the name of the previous owner to help us help him!
As a security company our customer is the person that paid us to install the equipment into a motorhome. Until a third party proves that they are legal owner our loyalty remains firmly with our customer.
To the OP email (eddie@vanbitz.com) me your details and regd number and I will try to track down what is fitted and we will see what we can do.
