I have been looking at these over the last couple of weeks, at £100 I am wondering if they are worth it.
I normally use a charcole barbeque, but have found it a little constrictive on some French and Spanish sites, also in the UK.
has anyone used or got one that can give me a personal view please.

Excellent piece of kit, go for it. They are great whether you are cooking for two or 22, just cut down on the amount of fuel you put into the fire pit if its only for a couple of steaks or chops. The cobb briquets last for about 2 hours so a waste, we cut ours in half.

On the plus side I don't think we've had a more tasty roast on our Cobb.

On the minus side, it takes a lot of washing up afterwards.

After lots of use we now tend to use it only for roast meals as we find its not worth the bother for a bbq but thts just our opinion. My mouth is watering just thinking about the roast meals we've had on ours though.

The Cobb 'cobblestones' make life easier but are very expensive, look out for cheaper varieties. Home bargains sometimes sell a similar product a lot cheaper called Miracle blaze. A lot less hassle than coals in the centre bit.

A couple of posts about our Cobb you might find interesting...

What they said. Smile

The wife bought me mine as a birthday pressie. It does do a very good roast chicken and you can pick it up when it is working and take it inside BUT it is a messy 8ugger to clean afterwards, accessories are very expensive and I wouln't use it for a normal burger style bbq - I've got a little fold out that does that just fine.

However...... when it sits on a plastic camping table sizzling away with a whole chicken in it, it does look, sound and smell very cool indeed.

It is also built like a german tank and I can see it lasting longer than me or the MH.

My next summer trip out I'm going to try and bake bread in it for a laugh - apparently it works fine and comes out great.
What a stage show if that works!

so do I see a consensus that it is a great piece of kit, will replace the oven for cooking, but not ideal for just burgers, bacon and sausages, best use normal bbq. and involves a lot of washing up afterwards.
sounds expensive for £100 plus carry a spare bbq for the oick's. Laughing Laughing
