Hi All.

I have received a number of enquiries regarding the possibility of contracting legionnaires disease from showers on camp sites and in private residences. The owner of any showers that are used commercially has a duty under the Health and Safety at Work Act to ensure a system is in place to prevent such outbreaks occurring and I often wonder if this takes place in camp sites that we use. There is no requirement to treat private residences but it does no harm to treat gravity fed systems once a year as prevention is always better than cure. Whirlpool and air baths are another concern covered in the article which can be viewed here.
