A couple of threads have mentioned home solar, so I thought I'd share my dads new system with you as well as plug the installer company who was superb and not one of the new "double-glazing-sales" type. Interestingly the guy who installed it was just a "contact" from a car forum (similar to this) - so shows forum friends work!

Bottom line is it should make £2,000+ a year (hopefully over £2,500 - and hence a fairly rapid payback and lots of profit over the 25 year shceme. Better than premium bond returns!
