I love my shower on a cold morning with the hot blown air filling the space like a sauna.
At the Lincoln show I tested out several shower units, imagining that I had dropped my soap. An interesting experiment, for several vans prohibited my getting the soap back with the door closed.
I am not a chunky person by any stretch of the imagination but would have to leave the soap on the floor until I opened the door.
So who is the shower cubicle for?
Small children get mucky and they would fit in ok! However at least one owners club discourages the application of small people, so it cannot be for them.
Are showers fit for purpose or just a selling feature?
Alan
I did use the shower once and got absolutely soaked.
Furthermore in my view, if you have a shower you then need to top up water, you then need to go and get rid of grey water, you then use gas up rather then the campsites electricty which is paid for in the price and offers big space and gushing showers, ideal for the chunky person and those impersonating Easter Eggs like myself.
Can't see the point except for wild campering and even my own driveway is classified as wild camping and no way am I sleeping in the dickie darkies with monsters creeping around.
We use ours all the time - as storage for the levelling blocks; dirty washing; etc. If there was a real emergency we would use the shower room for its' intended purpose but, as somebody has already said, why pay site fees (as many of us do) & not use the, usually, far superior site showers.
______________________________________________________________ 30 mins 06 secs for 5kms? Not bad for an oldie...and aiming to go under 60 for 10k whilst under 60.
though mainly prefering to wild camp even on site if its only for a couple of nights i use our on board one have fitted a shower curtain around the standing area as i am of generous proportion's [okay i'm fa]t only problem i have with ours is 3 times when iv'e bent down to open the wc flap i pushed the lever up and got soaked the 1/3 past 2 in the morning one woke me up though
Hi.
We use our shower, but i am sure you all, already know, that the biggest cause of shower tray cracking,is useing the cubicle for storage, the up and down motion creates stresses on the floor while you are travelling. This HAS been mentioned once or twice in the CC, magazine, but someone may read it here for the first time.
The reason we use our shower..... You know who used it last,we have used shower blocks on sites, but prefer to use our own, water is readily available in most parts.
Ted.
I use my shower in the van all the time... and hence I get through lots of water still its just personal preference, I'm in Brugge in the very large camp site with very nice showers and yes I'll still use my shower in the van..... I have to pick up the shower jel and shampoo stuff which is on the floor so yes I can pick up soap from my shower floor.....
