Currently away touring North Devon, taken our SKY HD + box and our Maxview Portable Satellite Dish, we have done this for the last two years. Set up the system at our current site, locked on to the Satellite and all was OK, with a good strong signal being displayed in the Services Setup Option. Turned the system on to watch the Rugby yesterday morning and no signal, checked that the dish hadn’t moved, tested it with the Satellite finder squawk box, signal coming through loud and clear, yet no signal bars showing on the system in the Services Setup option menu. Check all connections and all OK. Noticed, despite turning the dish, the Numbers in the signal display never changed and no Signal Bars appeared. Check the viewing card was OK and it displays it number in the menu display.

Has the Box gone or have I been zapped by SKY, as I understand this is possible. Can anyone advise?

Apologies for stating the obvious but have you tried unplugging the Sky box from the mains for a couple of minutes and then re-trying? If so and it's still not working, it's probably worth searching on google. There have been reported problems of Sky Anytime causing certain boxes to lock up and people have resolved it by performing a new installation in the engineer's setup menu (Services,4,0,1 Select). If you call Sky, they will quickly tell you if they have zapped you and they may be able to re-set it. I guess you can make up a story about your phone-line not working if they ask and if you are still within the first 12 months of the contract.
