The Disneyland Resort Paris unfortunately closed the camping ground section of Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch (in the first years called "Camp Davy Crockett") in the fall of 2002.

But at least for motor caravans, and only for motor caravans and not for normal caravans or tents, DLRP continues to offer the possibility to stay overnight at the main-parking-area of the theme parks. There the castmembers direct the motor caravans to the "Pinocchio"-area, which is located on the right side of the moving conveyor belt (if entering the parking lot with the car) near its beginning (if moving toward the park) in the middle of the parking lot.

While there are no electrical-connections available on the parking lot, guests staying in the motor caravans are allowed to use the public toilets opposite of the animal care center (near the "Alice"-section) and the facilities for bus-drivers at the "Pinocchio"-area, which are clean and in good conditions. These facilities include toilets, showers, coin- and card-operated telephones, a TV-room and a small room with tables, seats and a drink- and snack-slot-machine. All facilities are open 24 hours. The same building also houses additional ticket-offices for the theme parks conveniently located to await possible lines at the offices at the entrances.

In addition motor caravans may use the waste-disposal and fresh-water-facilities for buses, located next to the bus-driver-lounge in the "Tigger"-area of the parking lot - there they may dispose of trash, used-water or the content of their camping-toilet and take in new fresh water for free. During the winter season the fresh water pipes are closed. Fresh water is only available inside the lounge at that time.

The guests staying there in a motor caravan are not handed a hotel-identity-card and are not eligible to the benefits and offers for hotel-guests (which include guaranteed entrance into the parks even if they habe reached full capacity, use of the hotel-pools, ….).

When entering the parking lot with a motor caravan it is necessary to tell the castmember that you want to stay overnight - he then issues the special overnight ticket to be placed behind the wind shield of the motor caravan to be checked by castmembers controlling the parking lot regularly. It is not necessary to decide about the duration of your stay in advance as it can be prolonged daily at the Animal Care Center (just bring the original receipt and the the prolongation is marked on it, too). The backside of this receipt also includes a map of the parking lot and the surrounding area informing guests about the location of all facilities.

As the number of slots on the parking lot is immense it is neither necessary nor possible to reserve a slot in advance. Normally the access to the parking lot is closed as latest at the closure time of the theme parks - this needs to be kept in mind when planning the arrival on the evening before the first visit to the parks.

Hi Lost,

Thanks for an excellent and informative post, i've simplified the title and moved it to a more relevant area as it might get lost in 'general chitchat' and that would be a shame, hope you don't mind.

A link to a previous post should compliment this one nicely......

Now all you need to do is put the details in the campsite database Wink

Don't think it will be a problem. We have seen a few RV's with cars in tow and a couple of large coachbuilts with Smarts during our visits. We will be taking our Smart with us at some stage and I'm not worried about it. Smile
