Bit of a strange problem with new netbook with Windows 7.
I am starting from scratch again and adding websites to my 'favourites' file. I added this site but for some reason, I am permanently logged on. I log out in the usual way but it makes no difference at all.
Anyone got a solution please ?

It's how the cookie crumbles! (Ho ho - what a wit!! )
MHF sends a cookie to your computer which holds your log-in details in memory. Next time you log onto the forum it knows who you are, and lets you in with no further messing around.
Very handy I think.

Agree totally with Zeb - it works well for me and saves me having to mis-spell Penquin yet again!
The only problem with this system is that if the cookie crumbles and they have occassionally corrupted for some unknown reason, then you cannot log on at all until you clear the cookies from the computer memory.
So just be aware if you suddenly can't log on, then clear cookies and start again. It is a problem that has been found with users in the past........
I would find it a real pain having to log on each time but if you really want to then you should be able to set your browser to delete all cookies on exiting your browser. However you will lose all other cookies as well. Alternatively you could presumably say "no" to cookies but that may cause other problems or you could manually delete the MHF cookie after each session.

Thanks for clearing that mystery up Dave. This new fangled Windows 7 takes some getting used to.
I am still working out the mysteries of email on this system. Got some but not all of my accounts working.
Where is that geeky BarryD when you need him.
BTW, are these cookies the Chocolate Chip ones ? cos I like them.
