Hi everyone, after a couple of Glastonbury festivals in a hired motorhome we took the plunge and bought out own van last weekend and should be ready to collect on 4th Nov.
Can anyone recomend a campsite to visit for our first trip on the Lincs or Norfolk coast?
Best campsite of all for your first trip is the front drive.
I'm not joking either. You are having to equip your new van, rather than relying on the hirers to remember everything - and I bet you will forget something!
The best way to check is to spend a night on the drive, then you have "lived through" most of the processes that involve the use of equipment and sundry odds and ends . . . and it isn't far to fetch whatever it is you find you need.
Many of us have done it, so don't feel a twit!
Plenty of sites on the Norfolk coast. >> This << is a nice one and it's open until 7th November.

Totally agree with Dave, Front drive, If no drive then somewhere very close and then when you find out you havent got something, Which you will, It's not far to get it and add it to your list.

Come on you lot thats not very helpful. This guy has just bought his MH and is desperate to get out in it.
Just returned from North Norfolk - lovely place. We used Sandringham C & CC site. Was very nice tho the pitches were a bit higgledy piggledy. Was very close to Sandringham House which is worth a day out. There are lots of sites along that coast and we also stayed just outside Cromer at Woodhill Park which had sea views but spoiled it for us cos they would not refund us for one day when we needed to be somewhere else and had to change the reservation. The beaches around there are lovely and in particular the beach at Wells by the Sea was lovely with lots of beach huts (over 200!!!). Also Holkham Beach is worth a visit and Holkham Hall looks good but we didnt have time to go there.
Do a map search on ukcampsites.co.uk and you will find loads of sites on there.
Congratulations on joining the "clan". You will enjoy a few days in Norfolk, I'm sure, and IMO you will be hard-pressed to beat Mill Farm

However, you will need to be a member of the Caravan Club (I'll happilytell you how to do it and accept the "joining reward" if you PM me!).
It is a well-drained site on the edge of Wells-next-the-Sea, overlooking the beach road, estuary and sea, plus part of the bird-rich land towards Holkham and with wonderful sea-scapes. There is a private path directly into Wells town, approx 10mins to the shops and quayside. The toilet and shower facilities are a little basic and the entrance to the farm may have a bit of manure on it, as this is also an equestrian centre.
From Wells you can travel easily in either direction along the coast.
We spend a great couple of days at Skegness Sands last weekend for our first trip. It was brilliant and we know we have done the right thing buying a motorhome.
Next trip already booked for early Jan....cant wait
