I am in the middle of striping out my Tracvision dome prior to downsizing to a new van.I do not want to damage the roof of my old van.Can anyone give me info re buying a new base plate and cost.
Is their another solution [color=black] [/color

You could try cutting through the sicaflex with a length of cheese wire. that way you can reuse the original.

My Tracvision sits on 3 legs, removal of the legs,once screws removed, was a very easy job, just left 6 screw holes to fill.

If you get or make yourself some flat metal or plastic plates the same size or just a bit bigger that the footprint of the 3 legs where they sit on the roof, then you can then just unscrew the 6 screws. then clean the area around where the lets fitted and sikaflex or araldaite the plates you made over the holes.

Finally paint them white and you will hardly notice.

Most peopkle wouldnt mind seeing this (if they ever even notice at all) and would rather see this than a big footplate of your dome sitting there ready to trap the next passing branch and rip a hole in the roof.
