Thanks for the post.

If I cannot find an RV with the right layout for us, I am thinking of doing a self build. This Merc has an awning fitted and I wonder if someone has already started a bit of a conversion.

Is there any way to find out what price it went for when the auction takes place? It is just to get a rough idea of what price I can expect to pay for something similar.

Thanks.

no has not had a conversion started is direct from local council
it went through last time at £3800 sold provisionaly but lease company would not take lass than 4k i presume that is +vat
i called in to look around it on tuesday and looking at the prices on ebay for similar bus bodied etc looks like a good price, we had the same about layouts we love our self build but now regret not putting in a larger fixed bed so that is this winters project.

Any self build I do would have to include a drop down bed.

Is this a feasible proposition or just too hard to do from scratch?

It is a necessity to give more lounging space with captains chairs.

The 8.5 metre length on the Merc is about right. I would not want anything much over 30 feet overall length.
