Need some advice on the spec./ type of laptop suitable for a teacher (of infants). Sounds stupid I know but my wife is thinking of buying 1 as a present & obviously not wanting to go OTT.
Thanks

First consideration should be the size of screen needed. Then whether you want a Pc or Apple.
then all your problems start. Laughing Laughing

To be honest if its not for gaming virtually any laptop will do.
Things to consider:
Will she need a long battery life i.e. will it be unplugged from mains during the teaching day?
Does she need wifi? Best to Get type N as better range.
Screen size? Does she need the whole class to see screen?
Does she need to connect it to a projector? If so what output does she need ? HDMI, 15pin sub D, DVi etc.
Does she need to connect to the school network? Windows may be easier to get school help.
What software does she need? i.e. MS Office, does she need any special software that is only available on Mac or Windows etc.

My partner's laptop has a keyboard with an additional numeric pad as she inputs lots of figures and finds it easier. So lots of questions.

Sorry not really helping with more questions but it may help to find answers to direct you to what laptop she needs.
