Hi all.

I have a problem opening a file I made years ago.
I had it saved in "Documents"
When I open it now this is what I get.

">
    < = R S T U V W * + R S d e t u / V h ! " 5 6 Z [ o p r g h . o _ %
w"
What can I do to get back to the original????

What is the file extension? .doc? .rtf? (Right click. properties)

What was the file created in? (What version?)

What are you trying to open it in?

Go to Documents and right click the file....select 'properties' and post the following:-
'Type of file' and 'Opens with'.
This will give a good clue to the answer Wink

Try loading 'OpenOffice.org' this is to all intents the same as the Microsoft suite (Word, Excell etc) but it is free and legal. It also reads and writes to 'Word'
