When you go to Europe for months how do you get enough prescription drugs to last you whilst you are away? Are GP's in England able to supply a prescription for say 6 months? I've been advised that my GP in NZ can only supply for 3 months.. any English GP's out there who could advise me on this please...

I can't answer this Lizzybeth but will push it up so others can perhaps.

Good question - my GP will only supply me with 1 month at a time. I have to hoard before I go by ordering before I run out for a few months. You can get private prescriptions from GPs -for which you have to pay- but not sure if you then have to pay full price for the drugs concerned.

Hi Lizzibeth
I think you will find that many of the drugs which are on prescription in UK are over the counter at Farmacia in Spain, when I first came here to live I found I could buy the necessary pills post my heart attack over the counter and I know others with other requirements that have done the same, now I have the SIP card I now go to the medical centre as they are cheaper
