Hope someone can help me with some simple suggestions.

I've just been alerted to the fact that someone is sending emails using one of my hotmail accounts that I don't use very often.

I'm not a very "techie" person so....

a) how much of security breach is this?

b) what can I do to stop it?

All suggestions will be gratefully received because I haven't got a clue what to do about it.

Many thanks in advance.

Catz

Had something similar with my hotmail. I changed the password and only logged on when i wanted to and logged off once I finished. Worked for me.

Hi,
A fairly common and old virus is activated when you open an infected email. The virus then goes to your contact list and sends an infected email to all the contacts that it finds.

Make sure your AV is up to date and run a full virus scan.
