I have just tried to add some up to date info to my 'Ferienstrasse' blog entry for a recent query in the Germany forum. I clicked on 'edit' but it just brought up a blank screen with none of the info that was showing in the original entry.
I pressed the 'modify entry' button to try and get back to the original text and I now have a blank blog!.
I spent a lot of time on this particular entry, has it gone forever or can it be resurrected?
If it can't then I shall be a tad pee'd off to put it mildly
Loosely translated, means "German Holiday Roads". They are tourist routes around particular regions in Germany following different 'themes'.
Whether you’re going to Germany this year for the first time, or are seasoned travellers, incorporating one of these routes into your holiday itinerary could help to give it a bit more interest.
I’m sure many of you have heard of the more popular well trodden routes, here are a few to jog your memory;
A route around the Schwarzewald (Black forest) taking in clock factories and shops, including claims from several towns to have the largest cuckoo clock in the world.
No, not a breakfast cereal route but an scenic route along the northern fringe of the Bavarian Alps from Lindau on Lake Constance right across to Berchtesgarden, it also continues into Austria.
The above are some of the better known routes but there many, many others not quite as well known but there is usually something that will fit into your plans depending on where you’re going and what your interests are. A list of some other routes....
The German road of Avenues, picturesque routes mainly with tree lined avenues.
A large route broken down into smaller regions from NE Germany right down to the south at Bodensee (Lake Constance).

"Deutsche Spielzugstrasse"
The German Toy road. A route taking in toy manufacturers and shops stretching from Waltershausen down to Nurnburg.
That’s just a few, there are many, many more, hopefully some of the above will have whetted your appetite to go and try one.
In the above links, I’ve tried to incorporate the English versions if there is one and if not, where possible I’ve done a google translate for the others
For a few more links to German holiday routes in general, including more not listed above, these might help.…
The last link is an excellent interactive map for many of the hoiday routes. Just click on 'scenic routes' on the left and then select the route you're interested in to display the map.
Gute Reise!
Pete.
As to what you did, note sure, Will test the edit routine tmrw
Thanks Dave , I was dreading typing all that out again, I'm assuming I can just paste it back in?
Theres definately something not right there, when I went into edit mode it just showed a blank screen, I was probably wrong to hit the 'modify entry' button but I couldn't think of any other option.
I've just created another test entry but that one comes up ok in edit mode so its a mystery to me but thats nothing new
Promise I won't touch it any further until you've tested it.
I haven't been able to edit my existing blogs since the new editing system was brought in making it similar to new blogs, this must be over a year ago.i did report it at the time.
I see it was jan this year here is my post
Blog edit

Reason for change by sallytrafic: Sorry link now added correctly
i think i have sussed it, I believe you and Frank must have javascript disabled in your browsers / PCs and so do not see the WYSIWYG editor
Just tested it and that does as u say i.e. brings up the message box with nothing in and then if u click modify it saves nothing as the entry
sooooooo million dollar question, do u have javascript disabled. Go to http://javatester.org/enabled.html and see if the text "I'm Here " is displayed in the test section titled "5. From JavaScript Again"
