I'm going through my Tom Tom POIs, and editing the descriptions to make more sense to me.
My problem is that I can only get POIEdit to show the location on a Google map, what I'd like, is to see it at Street level, it's probably me being thick, but I can't seem to be able to find how to do it, assuming it's possible of course.
I can cut and paste the co-ords into Google maps online and do it that way but with the amount I have to do it will take me a very long time.
Mods.
I know this is possibly a Sat Nav post, but I think it might get more help here.
Street View will only work if your POI are on or very close to the road. Once you have your location on google map you drag the man onto the nearest road to start SV. If you have a lot of POI its going to take you a long time.
Not sure I fully understand what your saying Kev, don't see the link to TT, but google have recently changed street view. At least I only noticed it a few days ago Cameras are no longer displayed where there is a view, you have to click and drag the little man symbol to where you want to view a street to get a picture.
Is this your problem?

Assume I want to check out a POI I've not used for a while, but am going into that area soon and I want to see how the land lies, what are the views like, is it close to a road or village.
At the moment I can look up the co-ords and see the layout on a the inbuilt link to Google maps, but you can't zoom into street level, so I have to cut and paste the co-ords into Google maps then go to street level, which is bit of a pain if looking at more than a couple.
I'm assuming that I'm missing a function whereby I can just click the relevant POI in POIEdit and I can zoom into street level without leaving the program, but even zooming from one level to another is only possible by scrolling to the next POI after clicking the +/- then back again.
I am also in the process of editing the POI titles so they're more descriptive, so being able to see the area first is helpful.
Thanks, ok I understand now but sorry cannot help you.

you can try Tyre instead of POIEdit. It was originally developed for TomTom ITN files, but also works with POIs. (If the POI-files are not too large.) It does support Street View.
Best Regards,
Gerhard

Thanks Gerhard,
I did have a quick look at Tyre, but didn't like the feel of it, but now I'm not moving POIs, I'll see what it's like for viewing the areas.
