I was wondering if anyone could help recently got a car with Pioneer AVIC X1 Dvd Nagigation System. I have no idea how to play a dvd or how to work the SatNav, as SatNav says Function not avliable in Navi Mode.
I don't know for sure, but a TV in the drivers sight is, I think, illegal, so thats a default "safety" feature? Either you're driving and navigating, or stopped and watching tv, never both??

An excellent Sat Nav unit.
Do you have a DVD with maps for the unit? If so tell me what number it is ie CNDV 70MT . We are now on the latest maps CNDV100MT . They need a disc to plot the route then the unit can save the directions to memory. I can guide you completely on this unit as I have one myself. If you do not have a disc I can help you there also as I update mine every year, The unit will also play video, MP3, CD and act as a reversing camera screen. It is important that the lazer is in good condition to read the discs but I can also point you to a company in the UK that can repair at a very reasonable cost. Although the mapping is still Tele Atlas like Tom Tom I find they are of better quality (I have 3 Tom Toms and a garmin) I note you are not a member of MHF so do yourself a favour and join. If you have to buy a disc for this unit in the UK you will get a big shock with the price . Join this site so I can talk to you by PM and you will save a fortune.

Its not a TV its possibly the best Sat Nav system out there. Its a radio with a screen It will play DVD's and will show them thro the TV positioned in the habitation area. It has a 7" screen so no peering to see it like a TomTom one. It talks to you and zooms in automatically at junctions. Only requires a cursory glance if the spoken direction is not completely clear. Much safer than maps falling everywhere or a road atlas where the binder is just in the way of the part of the map you want to see. So there is nothing unsafe or dangerous with this unit. I am very pleased with mine

This is a download of an installation manual. As I understand it the unit is installed they just need to know how to use it and the first thing they need to have is a map DVD
