Has anyone tried this?

Is it free once you've bought the dongle and is it easy to set up and get a signal?
Any information would be much appreciated

I have used one.
It came with its own software but you can use Widows Media Centre as well.
They uuallycome with a small stick ariel which is not very good so the dongle needs to be plugged into a proper rooftop ariel.

Generally very good so long as you have a signal. I have one and have used an active powered aerial (or called something like that!) in order to improve the aerial reception.

Does this bit of kit only work in the UK or can you pick up UK channels when in France and Spain?

I use one and yes, it is free to use once you have bought it, mine cost about £13.

If there is a very good signal then the stick aerial works well but I am having to get myself a 'proper' aerial now as been a couple of places with poor signal.

It is easy to automatically search for channels but it will not sort them like a TV, they are labelled though so I just make a note of the numbers of the channels I want.

When at a new location and doing a new search it is best to clear the old channels first otherwise you end up with lots of unnecessary references.

Doubt it would work abroad.

In my opinion it is an excellent piece of kit for the price.

Yes, do this as well. Connect to the status aerial and works fine.

Yup, me too. I bought mine from Roadpro at the Lincoln Show and found it Brill', only failed to get signal once near Stafford but couldn't get a picture on the TV/digi box either so guess we were in a black spot. I would agree, our performance is better on the Laptop with this than the TV/box set up.**Recommended Yes**
