Hi can anyone give me the optimum Lnb skew and distance to Lnb from the hole in the top of dish (looking at the dish from Lnb) for the UK and how about southern Spain? I understand it changes a fair bit.

Hi

There is a brilliant tool at http://www.dishpointer.com/

Just add your location and satellite (Astra2) and it gives you all the information that you need, no matter what type of system in use

Cheers

Unless you have something larger that an 85cm dish then don’t expect to pick up any Astra 2D channels further south than Barcelona.

In Alicante you would need something approaching a 2.4 metre dish. Try fitting that on the roof of your MH! Laughing

Click here for dish sizes required in France, Spain and Portugal.

We used an 85cm Oyster just south of Cartegena last winer (November to May). No BBC 1,2 but Channel 5 OK. Had to change frequency in box to get ITV1.

If I were you I would wait until you get down there and just ask people. There are lots of people who go there every year and also ex pats who can help.

We found we had to tune our sky box to Astra 2s on 12207
This is for Astra 2 south. We were south of Cartagena.

This was on the old white Sky box which is what we still have. I have a file with the full set up which you can have if you pm me.
John.

Hi.

We are in Benidorm and with our crankup system we get a few english channels. Movies For Men 1-2-3, Horror, CNN Sky News and a lot of junk channels.

The easy way to find Astra 2 with a crank up system to set your Freesat box to the Sky news and then do a search at about 38 degrees. It took us less than1 minute to get a picture. A lot of the auto systems are failing to lock on.

I have put numerous posts on here on how to get UK channels in southern Spain so i'm not repeating it but with a dish of 60cm which includes a crankup you can get many channels down in Southern Spain including currently ITV1. Just read my previous posts on this subject.
In a MH you can't be carying around a huge dish so you must do the best you can with what you have.
I live here, Have a MH, Have a 80cm system. live in the worst reception area in Spain, Help many others on how to set up their MH systems so I know what works and what does not from practical experience
At home here we have a 2.4metre dish and get everything perfectly but of course this is not feasable on a MH. With a small dish you will get times with no signal on some channels and during bad weather but generally you will be amazed how well it works if set up properly,
