Our non motorhoming friends have invited us to join them on a holiday to Croatia.
I am hoping that some of you well travellled people can give me some idea of where we should go, (polite answers preferred Wink ) what we should see and what the public transport is like.
We like to have a bit of a walk after our evening meal, possibly more a stroll, enjoy new tastes and cultures prefer to be near the sea or a lake.

Over to you.

Thanks in advance

Sue

When are you going? How long are you going to stay?
I like the islands in southern Dalmatia - Hvar, Korcula, Vis ... they are not motorhome friendly, so you can use this opportunity. There are lots of nice towns along the coast on the mainland as well - Trogir, Šibenik, Vodice, Split, Dubrovnik ... to name just a few. Will you be staying in a hotel? Rent-a-car is probably a better option than public transport.
Regards,
Cilka

We will be going in either June or September, most likely June, hope it will be warm enough for swimming in the sea.
Will be staying in a hotel, we like small and friendly and like to eat out rather than half board.
Not sure if car hire will be an option, the 'boys' like a drink and I don't think the husband would be too happy being driven about by me. Rolling Eyes

Take lots of money with you. When we lived in Hungary a lot of us went to Croatia for the day, could not believe how expensive it was.

June or September are best months and not so expensive anymore and not so crowded. June is good as the days are long, the sea is warm enough to swim if you are OK with 22, 23 degrees (Centigrade). In September days are shorter but the sea is warmer. Hotels organise tours so you can join them so that you don't have to drive. Just let me know if you would like some further information. As I said, I like the entire coast - from Istria to Dalmatia.

Cilka
