Seems my ducato is bleeding gearbox oil, its a 1998 Ducato 2.8D, think I located where it is leaking from, looks like there should be a seal or something where the driveshaft enters the box, around the teeth bits, can anyone confirm? (Its on the O/S drive shaft)

Yes there is a re-enforced seal there, if your reasonably capable its not too hard to replace, although, and please dont take this the wrong way, if you have to ask the question you probably wont be able to do it. also you need some fairly large tools as you have to split the suspension to remove the shaft, and as the bolts that hold the hub to the susp leg are prone to shearing off you may also need oxy acetlyne to heat the bolts.

No offense taken Smile It sounds like a job for a mechanic to me, if I were to split the suspension I'd never get it back together again!

When looking on EPER for the replacement part how do I figure out the sub-category, compatibility and code.....it doesn't seem to relate to any of the codes on my stamp:

I managed to select the correct engine code, my VIN wasn't found on the fiatforum eper...

Why worry about the part number? The fitter will take a copy of the vin number and place the order for you.

My fitter won't be a specialist, more likely someone with a big hammer, plus it'd be handy to figure out the eper system for future parts I may be able to replace.

Ok! So you go to the Motorfactors with the vin no. and vehicle registration and pick up what you need.
