iI soke to Frank the Designer at Dometic to point out the fours in the design. 1 ...Its awkward to hold when emptying. 2 ... The slide Mechanism in the bowl to release, Well you know what, sticks, Rubber seals were made from incorrect quality. There were more but as time goes by and I sold the MH, one forgets. plus they copied THetford with regarding the rotating Bowl. It doesn't Hnce they come up with the idea to have a brak off lug to rotate the Seat. Not so clever because the bowl is not round, which means some things end up on the side of the bowl and not in the tank, with the slide open, The the ford completely rotates, bowl wise.

Ps When I first spoke to this Bloke at Dometic,, No one told me he was the Desgner.
He did introduce himself after I pointed out several fails !!!!

We have one. Agre it is awkward to empty, just designed wrong and opening the flap definitely sticks to the point that we are going to ae the option of an electric opening flap on ours.

Contact Dometic and they will give you the upgrade for the slide.
The rubber used is softer and more selr lubricating.
We received a new slice mechanism and cassete.

My Rapido was originally 'equipped' with a Dometic VT2500 toilet which had a ceramic bowl. This toilet is an example of Dometic's inability to make anything with moving parts work consistently (example: those mickey mouse locking catches on Dometic fridges and freezers).

Anyway the VT2500 was consigned to the skip and replaced with a standard Thetford C200 which works beautifully ... every time.

.. concluding my therapeutic rant .. I always thought Dometic's engineers based the design of their VT2500 on the childrens board game 'Mouse Trap' adding more sensors, valves and levers in a vain attempt to make a basic flawed design work occasionally.

I would avoid Dometic products if an equivalent Thetford is available.
