Had a similar problem with ours a couple of years ago. Auto electrician traced it to a faulty wire and burnt out connector in one of the front spotlights. The actual lamp fitting had broken causing all this. Worth looking at if you have these spotlights fitted. Just disconnecting the wire to the light solved the problem. Still working on whether to repair/replace light.

A 30 amp fuse seems to be a lot for a cab fan. Is this the correct fuse rating for this item?.
Listed below are some statements and answers that may help.

The fuse is the correct rating for the fan. As soon as I replace the fuse the new on fails or it fails as soon as I turn the fan on.

If this is the case, it is probably a fault in the wiring to the fan unit or wiring fault inside the fan.

The fuse is the correct rating for the fan. When I replace the fuse the fan works, but either fails after a short time of use or may last for a while but eventually fails.

This sounds more like a failing fan motor which is trying to draw more current than the fuse is allowing, this could be on start up or during prolonged periods of use. If this is the case I would not use this item until you have had it checked by an electrician who will be able to tell you what current the fan is drawing and what it should be drawing. (please do not just put a higher rated fuse in, as this may cause the wiring to be damaged or go on fire.)

Hope this is of help.

Thanks for the suggestions
30 amp is the recommended fuse.I have a 25 amp in at present
The original fuse in the glove compartment melted 3 years ago so I put an inline fuse holder that lasted about a year.
this is my third.
I have had it tested with a current meter and when the fan is fully on it draws 25 amps .
I ran it for 10 mins on full power and the fuse holder starts to get warm,
not enough to burn fingers though.
The fan sounds ok to me.

Regarding my earlier post about this fault. Our fan kept blowing the fuse even if we uprated it. Fan worked fine initially and then blew fuse. As I said earlier it was traced to a fault with the front spot lights. Even if you do not have these lights fitted check the wiring for them as they are in the loom and the connectors will be looped around some bodywork at the front. Also check any other equipment that is supplied from this fuse. I took my fan out as I thought it was that initially but when tested was found to be perfect.
Good luck and hope you get it sorted.

Not a very good idea to have the cab fan and the fog lights working on the same fuse. if the fan is drawing 25amp what happens if you put the fog lamps on? it does not leave much to run the fog lamps.

If it is wired in this way, which is very odd, I would think about running new wires and fuse for my fog lights.
