Does anyone use a Safari Residence on a Hymer resulting in the garage door becoming inaccessible?

Had this on my old van and moved the awning back along its support bracket so that the safari room pole cleared the garage door and the habitation door. Only three nuts and bolts to unfasten, three holes to drill and refit the bits. The bracket was a continuous length type.

To avoid the problem on our new van, I ordered an additional garage door to be fitted on the opposite side. Brownhills failed miserably in this respect. I did have a longer awning fitted, at their expense, to avoid the problem (and had a dual 11kg Gaslow system fitted by way of compensation).

Later on, I intend to fit an additional door to the garage myself, probably a Thetford Type 5 or 6.

Ours has a safari residence which the original owner had fitted from new by Hymer UK. It neatly misses the garage door by half an inch which I presume was deliberate - so it can be done
