I have been a lurker here for a few years now, just quietly watching and wishing but the time has come to join the group.
After 6 years of talking I finally got the cash together and just happened to be in the right place at the right time and managed to land myself an X reg LDV LWB Convoy 400 for a nice tidy sum, now to convert her into my home.
I am hoping that somone out there is local to Ammanford South Wales and is up to taking a camper conversion virgen under their wing and hekp me build my 1st van. Sure it wont be my last.
I am a little way away from you ‘all the way up in Yest Yorkshire’ however I will try to help you with any questions or advice you need. You will find lots of help on this forum and its members are always friendly.

Thanks. I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions. I have downloaded almost every You Tube video on van building and dowloaded like a hundred + pics of peoples conversions from forums and site to learn.
Welcome and good luck, Hope the LDV and your skills live up to the dream, we're going down a similar track at some point in the (hopefully ) not too distant future, bought a van and sold it as it didn't fit in with changed ideas.
I am sure that you will find that loads of us have been down the self build road and look forward to offering any help that we can.
Although you will have looked at lots of designs, perhaps start out deciding, not how to fit things in but what type of van you want.
Do you want the emphasis, on being social, providing seating for several friends?
Are you enthusiastic cooking and eating buffs? A drainer and cupboards for saucepans is essential.
Is convenience of ever-ready fixed beds your priority? Fixed beds take up a lot of room but can cover a 'Garage' storage area.
It could be worth looking at the thread 'Sketches' today, where he has used a program to explore his design ideas.
I know you will enjoy the challenge of building your own van.
Have fun!
Alan
