Has anyone got or thought about an alarm, that alerts one to a mains power failure if on hook up and the mains trips while asleep the fridge defrosts. No ice cubes for those G & T's. Of course those with the modern units will have put theirs on auto so that it would switch to gas. only of course if they remember. Embarassed Embarassed

Only if you've got a unit with Automatic Energy Selection (which has been set to auto). If you've got an earlier manual type unit then the only indication would be the illuminated switch (if one is fitted) no longer being illuminated.

I suppose you could use something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAINS-POWER-FAILURE-ALARM-PLUG-FREEZER-INCUB ATOR-/250792650450?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&hash=item3a646826d2#ht_500wt_1202 but it would probably frighten the **** out of you if it did go off in the confines of a motorhome.

How about getting one of those rechargeable torches that can be set to switch on automatically if there is a mains power cut.

Hi

When an idea gets into my head I usually stick with it until I have explored all the possibilities ...and in this case I think I have now come up with the lateral thinking solution.....

go for a fridge alarm....

The sensor goes into the freezer compartment and the alarm goes off if the temperature rises. Wink

Maybe like this one <<
