Hi all,

Can anyone tell me please, is there is a way to save my browsing tabs in Firefox, before restarting the PC to load the MS security updates, so that, when I go into Firefox again, up comes the pages I was looking at previously?

Thanks in advance for any help offered. thumbleft

Cheers,

Jock.

I think it happens automatically Jock.

Mind you the only way to find out is to try it and if not all is lost, Alan.

I wish Alan. I have just lost about six tabs, because of a restart.

When Firefox crashes, (not veryoften), it automatically "restores the session" when reloading.

Cheers,

Jock.

As long as you dont close Firefox down, you can then install the security updates, these then automatically close and restart you computer, then when you opon firefox the next time the pages you were looking at are there.

That's what I thought Steco, unless you closed it Jock rather than letting it do it automatically? Alan.

The only reason I know this is because I did it over the weekend, upgraded to FF 8.0.1

click the orange 'firefox' button in top left corner of the screen,
select 'options',
select 'options' again.
The first option is 'startup'. Select 'show my windows and tabs from last time' from the pull down menu.

If you only want your home page to show when you switch on, make sure that is the only tab showing when you close down.
I hope this makes sense.

Thanks Steve.

The updates window tells me that it needs to restart, in order to install the updates. I clicked on the restart button, and away it went. When up and running again, I had to open Firefox manually, and only got the one tab. Sad I didn't close Firefox prior to restarting. Perhaps there are "settings" that need tweeking.

Cheers,

Jock.

Nice one BB,

When I went into options, and startup, it was showing "my homepage" which is Google. I have altered the settings.

Many thanks for that. thumbleft

Cheers,

Jock.

Sorry, no idea, Mine restarted and when I logged back in to the Lap top and restarted Firefox, multiple tabs appeared just as I had left them.
