Just wondering if anybody else has had this fault.
While driving to Spain we lost the use of the turn flashers. I stopped and with a bit of luck I unplugged the lighting board on the scooter rack and the flashers on the van worked again.
Today I decided to investigate as I thought it might have just been water in the wiring connector so I have left it to dry out. It still would not work with the lighting board plugged in. I have found a module/relay under the van and it has got wet in the past and looks as if a pin has corroded in it.
I presume the relay/module is away of providing power to the towbar lights and flashers with out overloading the wiring harness. As the van is a 2002 model it does not have the cam bus wiring.
Any ideas I have found the module on a Belgium website at 63 euros. But also found a bypass kit on ebay for £22 which I presume does the same thing.
Assuming the wire connection at the back of the corroded pin is ok, try scraping the pin with a small flat bladed screwdriver. (could even wrap some 600 grade wet-and-dry paper over the end of the blade).
Put some WD40 on it when you've cleaned it, then connect and reconnect the socket and plug several times. Should clear it, if the unit itself isn't faulty.

Moving on
I tried to clean the pin but as soon as I touched it it bent over it has been nearly eaten away by the corrosion.
It seems a stupid place to have put it as it will get wet evertime the road was wet even though it had a small ledge that was only open to the rear. I would have put it in the boot in the dry. That is where the replacement one will go.
Just an update. I have now got a new relay off ebay and removed the rear lights and traced all the wiring, I found in this process corroded wiring and the trailer socket was all so in a bad way.
I managed to sourced a new trailer socket and a water proof box to put the relay box in took a while to wire it all up with plenty of tape to try and keep the water out.
