Open bleed nipple, press brake pedal to floor, tighten bleed nipple.

Move on to the next one.

Further than that, I cannot be more specific as you have not said if it is British, European, Fiat, Ford, Mercedes etc. etc.

A bit more info would help. Very Happy

Furthest away first was the advice I was always given - though I'm not sure how you decide with a dual line system?

I'm not even sure it was sensible advice? Rolling Eyes

Hi,

I have never had to bleed mine but have had a good look at the setup and it looks straightforward enough.

Do you really need to bleed them?

The first time I press the brake pedal, it feels slightly spongy but is fine after that. When I put it in for its first service with my local garage (I bought it secondhand, 2003 model) I asked them to check it out. The mechanic said they were fine and said it must be down to the long run of pipework because of the long wheelbase. I don't even notice it now.

Check your brake pads out. They could be worn and you have excessive travel on the pistons before the brakes bite.

Hi amcjam.

Are you bleeding the brakes because they feel spongy or is it that you wish to change all the fluid in the system. Water in the fluid

I was going to change all the fluid in our 748 but not sure if there is a break equaliser in the rear circuit that would need to be fully opened to bleed it all.

I hope someone knows more before I change the fluid in our system.

If you are changing the fluid suck the reservoir empty and refill with fresh fluid then bleed starting at the farthest nipple away from the master cylinder.

to bleed place clear pipe over nipple and into jam jar, release nipple and get assistant to press pedal down as far as it will go, hold down whilst you tighten nipple and then raise pedal, repeat until fresh fluid or no air is seen in clear tube.

hope this helps someone , may be like telling your grandma how to suck eggs, but hey ho

Loddy
