Hi All just got a new sat nav , as above, i'm a bit confused as it arrived with no instructions, or cd, and in the user point of interest box there's nothing, had a look on youtube at a demo and the demo showed a lot of cc and c&cc sites and other stuff, my feeling is that this unit was one that has been sold and sent back, and then sold to me as new, so my question is should i have these poi's already installed, or do i do it myself, also if i go on the snooper web site to download it shows that only pc's and not compatible with mac's has any one else found this, thanks in advance.

Dennis

Just looking at the manufacturer web site - http://www.snooperuk.com/products/s7000_ventura/
and it shows the contents of the box to include the CD (which contains the user manual):

I have a S7000 and it came with manual CD, quick guide and all the CC, C&CC, Bord Atlas and ASCI sites loaded. It seems that you may have a "returned" unit

The POI's are shown as an icon on the main screen - Bord Atlas and ASCI. Unless they have changed their system the POI option only allows you to add limited POI data - namely places you have visited. There is loads of info on this site giving the whole story. Between the ASCI and Bord Atlas icons there are approx 9000+ sites listed including all CC & C&CC, many Aires and municipal sites

Manuals can be downloaded from here -

If you bought it from a genuine supplier you should have everything you listed-including the CD. Get back to them after the holiday.

Check also if you need a map upgrade; you can establish that through going on their website and connecting up.

I've just done that and although I haven't had ours very long they want to charge me the full amount for an upgrade! Evil or Very Mad

Not impressed-I haven't bothered.

As Saddletramp says if you phone them they will upgrade you for free. I got the latest update however in my opinion its not very up to date as many of the new roads and numbers in France aren't included
