My wife commented that the van from Kev_n_Liz had to be a man's idea of what is good. No windows but electrical everything. No description of the bed but a demo of the DVD.
Top of the range Merc etc. A boys toy not a camper-van.

Murvi Morello on the new Sprinter takes some beating!

Well the Fiat Ducato Morello beat it for us, I'm afraid. I'm a big Mercedes fan, and spent two years looking for a Sprinter conversion that worked for us. But a Sprinter makes for a tight panel van conversion, with around 30% less convertable space than an X250 of the same length.
(Just to repeat myself from earlier posts: compared to an X250 the Sprinter is narrower, has a longer bonnet, a higher floor and much more tapering sides)
So with that space penalty and the £10k extra price, we made our choice. An X250 Morello.
But we almost had the first Domo in the UK and that would have been Sprinter based; the demo Domo we tried was Crafter based BTW
You can see the tapering/curving profile on the back this Wardrobe/Bathroom unit for a Sprinter - photos taken when I visited the Domo factory in Germany.
Kev & Liz - the Domo we nearly bought had a typical continental dinette with a very clever bed made up from that. The shorter interior length of the Sprinter/ Crafter worked OK with the unique fold-away bathroom of the Domo.
Afternoon all,
I have to go with trevdo1 on this space is the most important. the drop down beds are brilliant but too high for us especially wifey, could also be trickey after drinking abucketful. The mercedes I,m told has the better suspension though which is a big plus.

I keep hearing of Murvi, so I had a look, they seem to be well specked but I didn't see a layout suitable for us.
We would like to see one with a fully glazed rear lounge, mid bathroom with a kitchen opposite, and if space a two seater facing the SLD.
In the past you could get panel vans which had a lifting rear door, do any vans have that a an option these days I wonder, I only ask as most normal opening rear door are ugly and you can't have a full width rear window.

You'll be lucky if you get any rear window view on most Panel van conversions.
The best part of a panel van is that big sliding side door. Many conversions (in our view) ruin that by putting furniture across it. The 'traditional' Murvi Morello layout with a big L shaped settee opposite the wide open door really works for us.
Here is the best view in Florac from our Murvi parked in the Aire - no glass in the way, just a 4m sq space with the door open...
