Just one thing...I may be leading you on a wild goose chase but make sure you're comparing like-with-like.
I don't know about Tesco, but there are reports I've seen that if you get a T-mobile contract from a third party, you get a slightly different contract to that if you purchase direct. As I understand it, it effects whether you get full HSPA data rates, or just 3G. It used to be that reseller contracts ended up throttled to 350kbit/s, but I've read somewhere that this was recently increased to 900kbit/s. I've seen it described as "web&walk" versus "web&walk plus", but that may not be correct.
Of course, depends what you use the handset for, and if it's just web-browsing £14.50/month saving is worth having.
For my money, I found the S2 was too big. Went for an Xperia Arc S as it crammed almost same sized screen into a smaller handset.
Buy an android phone get it unlocked and get a GIFFGAFF sim card, 250 mins,unlimited texts and unlimited internet £10.00 per month,Ive been on it for a year no problems. Bill

Bill - understand where you're coming from but I don't think you'll beat this deal with that approach. Tesco T-mob contract = £20.42/month = £490 over the 2 years
2 years Giffgaff = £240, leaving £250 to buy the handset. Cheapest you'll find a SIM-free S2 is approx £390.
Of course, if you're going to keep the handset longer then the economics change, but type of person who buys a high end handset like an S2 generally wants to replace it at least every couple of years.
Fair do's to giffgaff thats a pretty good deal and i might give it a go as my contract is up in 6 weeks hence why i was looking around,i would have taken up the tesco offer but i'd lose my number as apparently you cant transfer a t mobile number to another t mobile account
