We have a Iphone 3GS, with unlmited internet access. Can this be used in Spain at 'hotspots' or in internet cafe's. I have been looking to buy a new computer "in the sales" at the biggest retailer, but have made to many notes on prices before and now and can't see the big savings advertised. I have been advised not to go smaller than 15'6- and like the look of one of the hps and a samsung. All in the region of £449. Has anyone treated themselves and what is your conclusion.
Thanks, Wendy
I used my 3G phone whilst in Portugal and ran up a £150 in a month!
Tariffs vary so dont take my comeent as gospel.
I bought a HP with a 15 inch screen two years ago in the NY sales for £350 - its been a great laptop. I would have thought youd get better use out of a laptop and a dongle than your phone as a dock....

You should be able to use your iphone to get 'FREE' internet via Wifi.
If you let your iphone use your sim card to get the internet you'll be roaming and running up a large bill.
I use an ipod touch for web, it's OK but I don't want to type long messages on it. This Christmas a family member got an ipad 2. I would say for internet/email/youtube/skype etc they are nothing short of brilliant. Expensive, maybe, it was £399. I was very impressed with the speed, quality and overall use. It makes my laptop feel old!
The screen is just short of 10 inches, but the quality is excellent.
I was going to upgrade my laptop, but think now I'll keep it, and get the ipad.
If you get the chance, get a demo, I think you may be impressed.
Just a thought!

Don’t use data on your iphone without making arrangements beforehand, it will cost you a fortune. You will be able to use unsecured wifi where you find it though.
As far as phone data connection goes you have a couple of choices. If you have or intend having a contract with Vodaphone they do the data traveller scheme £10 a month on top of contract for a limited but quite good daily allowance of 20MG.
Alternatively you can buy a local PAYG sim here's the best deal I’ve found for data (remember you will need a micro sim)

I'd look at the laptops first before you restrict yourself. I use a 13" screen all day (Apple MacBookPro), and find it perfect for reading, writing, and watching videos. The quality of screen these days is excellent.
It all depends on how you're going to use the laptop. What do you do with it?
