Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to access the internet on the new Kindle Keyboard 3G, Free 3G + Wi-Fi. I am looking to read emails and access google etc. I have heard this was possible to do on the older 3g Kindle models but have heard the new models bought from October 2011 no longer have this option.
many thanks.
I got one for Christmas and although I have so far failed to get on to my email I have managed to get onto google maps. So it must access internet. I assume it is new stock as is from Amazon and my husband is not one for forward planning!!

I got one for my birthday but havn't used it yet. The only reason I got this one was for access to the internet when we are abroad. It say it has free 3G + wi-fi. Will take it back if this is not the case.

I don't think this is any different to the Kindle 3g that many of us here have.
Same 'experimental' browser is included. Clunky, slow, but does the job, for free, anywhere in the world. Web based email and mobile versions of websites work best. See 'eReaders' section in 'Pastimes' section of this forum for infinite detail on this already posted in many threads.

Can't see the point of WiFi and 3G if you cannot access the internet!
A: To down load ebooks without a computer anywhere in the world
I think I read somewhere that the experimental browser is restricted to wifi on the new Kindle Touch 3G, but this didn't apply to the Kindle Keyboard 3G.
Jax it has free 3G + wi-fi this is primarily so you can access the amazon site to download books and papers etc
You can acess other sites currently but this is shown as experimental on the menu and amazon could disable this facility at some point in the future
Apparently the new touch screen unit that is still to come to uk only lets you use the 3g to get to amazon site though what they do with it in the uk could be different
If the main reason you bought the unit was the free 3g you have probably bought the wrong thing it is designed as an e reader with the 3g as a bit of an add on. As others have said a bit clunky for Internet browsing and only black and white
on my old wifi kindle, I had to get my e-mails via the talk-talk home page when I first got it, but if I just close it down on the e-mails it will load straight back up from there, on Experimental.
If I look for anything else on the internet and then close it down, I still have to go through talk talk to get my e-mails.
