I got a phone call early yesterday morning from the owner on my storage facility telling me to come over as soon as.As we drove over our car was getting buffeted very badly going along the M8 motorway and we feared the worst,on opening the warehouse door we were confronted by a blast of air coming from a huge hole in the back wall and roof.A quick inspection showed no damage so as I was about to jump into the drivers seat a gust of wind caught a panel of the warehouse roof and tore it back.Quickly reversed and got it out before any more of the building caved in,so that's us blocking a bit of our street until they can open up another section of the building.Only had the van 3 weeks and nearly lost it.

A VERY close shave by the sound of things! Glad you managed to save the van without any damage. Fortunate you were able to get to it in time.

Hope your ongoing ownership is a little less exciting Rolling Eyes

could have been worse a BIGTREE could have fell on it , joking apart a narrow miss glad there was no damage, I park mine on the drive and am always watching next doors roof in a storm up to now no mishaps with loose tiles hitting the van, once again glad you saved the van just in time. Pete

Nice one Pete,I did more damage to it myself driving it home from Germany.I clipped a trucks wing mirror with mine in a traffic jam on the autobahn, luckily again it was just a black mark that polished off although the 2 rear wheel trims went awol between France and home.Very steep learning curve, but I do like a bit of adventure. Smile

Hi Bigtree
I have done my mirror twice once in Belgium the other in France on the same round trip to switzerland last year, I did a fair job of repairing with car filler and mat black paint, only for a local council van to do it again of course his depot sided with him and called it 50/50 which it wasn't, this time I have tapped it up with black gaffer tape, I dont think it will repair again lol, I also lost a wheel trim in France I wonder if they get pinched ?. Pete

Use cable ties to secure the wheel trims, You can buy long silver ones on ebay.

After the near disaster at my storage warehouse I had to find somewhere else, so after searching the Cassoa site I'am now storing at Whiteshawgates caravans.Although it's further away it is £10 cheaper a month and I got a £49 rebate from my insurance company. Very Happy
