We are having to go to France in the car with a trailer and are thinking of buying snow chains/boots to carry in case of bad weather. I have looked online and there seems to be a big difference in price. Any thoughts would be appreciated about which would be the best buy, remembering that they are purely for emergency use.

I carry a se of Jeko belts in my motorhome which I can use in snow, mud etc. nice and light, haven't used them in anger yet but they certainly look as though they would do the job when required. If you Google Jeko there is a demo video you can watch.

Check what is acceptible in the countries you may use them in.
Have been told that chains are legal everywhere, not so with snowsocks.
No point in carrying both.
