Good morning and welcome...

You don't say if you're going to be touring in Scotland or you live there ?

I'd think carefully about hiring from somewhere close to where I was going to holiday. That way you don't have the expense of driving it from the hire place to your holiday area.

Check that it comes with all the basics you will need for everyday living- crockery, cutlery, kettle, outdoor chairs, etc etc. as well as a full gas bottle, hose for water refilling, and other items which you can check on the suggested packing lists for motorhomes in the downloads section here.

Make sure, when you collect it, you go over it carefully for dents and scratches and agree them with the hire firm; it's dead easy to collect them en route and you don't want arguments over who made them. Confirm what their insurance policy says about damage.

If you are thinking of buying a MH eventually then ask the firm if they discount your hire fees against a van bought from them. Some firms do.

Enjoy your holiday...I'm sure you will.
